Hawkeye Formula Racing is a Formula SAE team at the University of Iowa — designing, building, and racing high-performance open-wheel cars driven by students with a passion for competition.
Our Mission
We push the limits of engineering each season — designing and manufacturing competitive formula-style race cars, from an already existing model or completely from scratch. Our mission is to provide hands-on experience to students, engineering or not, that no classroom can replicate.
Competition
We compete in Formula SAE events — specifically the internal combustion class. We are judged across design, cost, business presentation, and dynamic performance. With such a competitive field, it all comes down to the little details.
